Right after the release of command and conquer original a new c&c game came out called command and conquer red alert. i dont get how this game is called command anc conquer even though it is compleatly of a diferent story. I have heard that the two games take place in the same universe but i dont get it.

In short, Red Alert preceeds Tiberian Dawn. The C&C universe is the one created by Einstien without Hitler, it splits apart from ours this way.

Red Alert happens after World War II, around 1950-60 (or, after WW2 was supposed to take place). Einstein goes back and takes out hitler, now instead of Germany, it's the Soviet Union that tries to take over Europe.

Red Alert 2 happens around 1970-80.

Tiberian Dawn happens in the present.

Tiberian Sun happens some 20 years after Tiberian Dawn.

Generals has absolutely nothing to do with any of them.

RA2 was simply a spin off game and the first game to really make C&C a franchise and not a series. Just as generals has nothing to do with the C&C plotline, RA2 is only connected through Red Alert.
