"nVidia is the way to go" That comes down to personal preference, I like ATi more then nVidia, alas, I'm sticking to ATi.
My pc wouldn't support DDR2, let alone DDR3 so there is no point in me wasting £100+ on a 8800.
Oh, and ATi do use GDDR3.
Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.
