Same for me, I used to work with the IE6 till the end of 2006. I worked with IE since 1999 (before that I used Netscape and Opera of course) and just wanted to give Firefox a chance.

It's nice, there are many tweaks and 400+ extensions around. But Firefox was and is buggy when it comes to memory usage. And this isn't fixed until now (I use 20014).

If they don't fix it with Firefox 3 final this summer, I will switch to Opera.

Back in January 2007, I compared the big three and wrote a topic about it on a computer forum. Unfortunately, I can't link it because it's written in german and barely anyone of you will understand the text. The result was: First place Opera, then Firefox and on third the IE7.

Opera clearly wins because it is packed full of features Firefox hasn't by default. You'll have to get many extensions to come to the same level. Opera can deal with the RAM even better than the IE does.

I haven't tested Safari yet and I am waiting for FF3, Opera 10 and the IE8 to make the next comparison chart.
