I'm comparing to a week ago. In the past week I installed this new SSD on my desktop and had to reinstall Renegade aswell.
I used to run the TT patch and I'm also still running the same virus scanner (avast).

Coincidences don't happen. An SSD should theoretically increase response time, but since it just so happens that you've been having FPS drops right after installing a new storage device... it's rather suspicious.
