The only Operating systems offered on these things are windows server and linux

Windows 2000 server runs renegade fine, as previously mentioned the problem is gonna be the graphics card and memory access.
Servers are not designed for gaming and games are not (usually) designed for servers (they don't use the extra processors and are not optimized for Xeon's).
