RenGuard caused my Renegade to hang everytime i loaded it up. RenGuard also wanted to make an outgoing connection to "RenGuard.<censored>.com" in which Mac said it shouldn't.

It should. It accesses the internet to get the master server list, and MOTD, and auto-updates. If your firewall stops it, it cannot connect to RG network, thus the hang.
